July 22st - Closing Celebration for Humanity Outpost
A sculptural celebration of Peace and Humanity
July 1 through July 22 at the World Peace Bell in Newport, Kentucky
The Humanity Outpost
sculptural exhibition will be held at the extraordinary Peace Bell
Park, home to the “World’s Largest Free Swinging Bell”. The Park and
Peace Bell are the vision of Wayne Carlisle, who gifted the park to the
community in 2000 to commemorate, celebrate and promote World Peace. Carlisle
describes the World Peace Bell as “A symbol of freedom and peace,
honoring our past, celebrating our present and inspiring our future”.
Jack
Moreland, president of Southbank Partners, is leading a committee of
community, business and civic leaders, forged to facilitate the
collaboration with the Malton Gallery and artist Edward Casagrande.
“Southbank Partners is honored and proud to host the Humanity Outpost sculptural celebration,” said Moreland, “The Humanity Outpost
exhibition is a major regional event, and we are thrilled to be a part
of this celebration, which will draw many visitors to the Peace Bell
Park and to Northern Kentucky’s river communities.”
“My Humanity Outpost sculptures are simply driven by the notion of community and connectivity”
said artist Edward Casagrande. “For three weeks this July, the World
Peace Bell Park will be the place to be…the place to experience a
culture of good intentions…the place for showcasing humanity at its
best.”
Sylvia Rombis of the Malton Gallery will curate and promoting the exhibition. The Humanity Outpost
event will breathe new life into the Peace Bell Park and the
surrounding areas, engaging visitors to come, experience and enjoy the
venue. The celebration will
include a series of cultural events focusing on art, music and
performance. All events will be free to the public. “Our vision is to create a major destination and sculptural event venue for the Humanity Outpost
sculptures, the World Peace Bell is the perfect place. It is a gift,
offered by Mr. Carlisle, as a symbol of Peace and a place to celebrate
Peace…all ideas that resonate with Edward’s sculptural concept and
harmonize with the mission of the World Peace Bell”
